The short version

  • The app does not create an account with us and does not send your records to us.
  • Your data stays on your device, in an encrypted database, and you can delete it at any time.
  • We never sell your data — there is no tracking, no profiling and no advertising SDK at all.
  • You can reach a human at scashier6@gmail.com.

1.Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how KeoSoft (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information in connection with Smart Accountant Pro (package name com.keosoft.smartaccounterpro) and every update we publish for it (together, “the App”).

KeoSoft is the name under which an independent software developer publishes apps on Google Play. We are not a data broker, we do not run an advertising network, and we do not operate a cloud service that stores your records. Almost everything the App knows stays on the device in your hand.

If a question is not answered here, contact us using the details in section 17.

2.Scope of this policy

This policy covers the App itself, the data it stores, and the permissions it requests. It does not cover services we do not control — for example Google Play, your own server, the devices the App connects to (a router, a printer), or any website you open from a link inside the App. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to read them.

The App is distributed through Google Play, in the countries where it is listed. This policy is the complete statement of how the App handles data — there is no separate document you need to read alongside it.

3.Privacy at a glance

The short version, before the detail:

WhatWhere it isWho can see it
Accounting records you createEncrypted database on your device, or on the server you configureOnly you and the users you authorise
Server address, user name and passwordEncrypted storage on your deviceOnly you
Purchase and licenceHandled entirely by Google PlayGoogle — never us
Advertising dataNone — the Pro version contains no advertising—

We do not have a copy of your records, which means we cannot read them, sell them, lose them in a breach, or hand them over. That is a deliberate design choice, not an accident.

4.Information the App stores on your device

The App does not create an account with us and does not ask you to register with us. Everything below is created by you, on your device, and stays there:

  • Accounting records — accounting periods, sales invoices, purchase invoices, refunds, customer payments, supplier payouts, products, product types, units, inventories, price lists, customers, suppliers, tables, currencies and users.
  • Permissions data — which of your users may add, edit or delete records in each screen.
  • Business profile — your company name, address, phone number, logo and the invoice and receipt settings used on printed documents.
  • Connection details — the address and port of the server you connect to, your user name, your password and your saved server list.
  • App preferences — language, theme, column layout, default printer and printer IP addresses.
  • Files you create — .sas backup files, exported Excel/CSV files and printed or saved PDF documents.

Where it is stored

The app is a client: it does not store your books on our servers. Records live in an encrypted SQLite database (SQLCipher) on the device that runs the server — which may be the same phone or tablet, another device on your local network, or a server you host yourself. The app on your phone only holds the data needed for the screen you are using, plus your connection settings.

Sensitive values — passwords and connection settings — are encrypted before they are written to disk, and the database itself is encrypted with SQLCipher. The App's private storage is not readable by other apps on a normal, unmodified device.

5.Device permissions and why we ask for them

Android shows you a permission prompt only when a feature needs it. We ask for the following, and nothing else:

PermissionWhy the App needs itWhen
InternetConnect to the Smart Accountant server you configure.Always
View network connections
View Wi-Fi connections
Detect whether a connection exists, find network printers and show a clear error instead of failing silently.Always
CameraScan product barcodes with the built-in scanner, and take a photo for your business logo. The camera is active only while that screen is open.When you use it
Photos and files
(read/write storage)
Import and export Excel/CSV files, save PDF invoices and receipts, and create or restore .sas backups.When you use it
Nearby devices
(Bluetooth, Android 12+; Bluetooth and Bluetooth Admin on older versions)
Find and connect to Bluetooth thermal receipt printers.When you print
Location
(Android 11 and older only)
Older Android versions require this permission before an app may scan for Bluetooth devices. The app never uses it to determine your location, and on Android 12+ it is declared never for location.Only on older Android versions

You can refuse any permission, and you can revoke it later in Android Settings → Apps → Smart Accountant Pro → Permissions. Refusing a permission disables the feature that depends on it; the rest of the App keeps working.

6.Advertising and analytics

The Pro version contains no advertising and no advertising SDK. It does not request your Advertising ID, it does not display banners, interstitials or rewarded videos, and it does not send usage data to an ad network.

You paid for the app, so there is nothing to monetise: your use of the app stays between you and your own server.

Because there is no advertising SDK in the App, there is no advertising identifier to reset and no ad personalisation setting to change.

7.Purchases and payments

Smart Accountant Pro is a one-time purchase made through Google Play. The payment is processed entirely by Google; we never see or store your card number, billing address or any other payment detail.

The app checks that a valid licence exists when it starts, through Google Play. That check tells us nothing about your books; it only answers the question “is this installation licensed?”.

8.Third-party services

These are the only third parties involved in the App. Each one is governed by its own privacy policy, which we do not control:

ServiceWhat it doesPrivacy policy
Google PlayApp distribution, updates and licence checks.policies.google.com/privacy
Android printingSends receipts and reports to the printer you choose, through the Android print service.Controlled by your device

We do not embed social networks, crash-reporting platforms, attribution trackers or data brokers beyond what is listed above.

9.What we do not collect

To be explicit, the App does not:

  • ask you to create an account with us, or collect your name, email address or phone number;
  • read your contacts, SMS, call logs or calendar;
  • listen to your microphone;
  • track your location — the location permission, where it appears at all, exists only because older Android versions require it before an app may scan for Bluetooth devices;
  • scan your photo library — you choose individual files, and only the files you pick are read;
  • sell, rent or trade personal data.

10.How we share information

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising on our own account.

Data leaves your device in only three situations:

  • Advertising and analytics. In the free version, Google collects the data described in section 6 directly from your device, under its own policies.
  • When you export, print or share. A PDF, Excel file, backup or print job goes exactly where you send it. That destination is your choice and is outside our control.
  • When the law requires it. If we are legally compelled to disclose information. In practice we hold almost nothing that could be disclosed.

11.How long information is kept

Your records stay on your device until you delete them — by deleting individual records, clearing the App's data, or uninstalling the App. We keep no copy, so we cannot recover anything for you.

Messages you send us for support are kept for up to 24 months so that we can resolve the issue and refer back to it, and are then deleted. We do not add you to a mailing list.

12.How we protect your data

We take reasonable technical measures to protect what the App handles:

  • the database is encrypted at rest with SQLCipher;
  • connections to your own server, router or printer stay on your network and are never routed through us;
  • the App requests only the permissions a feature actually needs;
  • the App contains no remote-access or backdoor functionality.

No method of storage is perfectly secure. Your device's lock screen, your operating-system updates, your backups and the files you export are your responsibility. If you lose your device, change any password the App stored.

13.Children's privacy

Smart Accountant Pro is a professional tool for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13, or under the higher age set by the law of your country.

If you believe a child has used the App and entered personal data, delete the App's data or contact us and we will help you remove it.

14.Your rights and choices

Because we never receive your records, most of your rights are exercised directly in the App — deleting a record, clearing the App's data or uninstalling it is an effective erasure, and it happens instantly.

Controls inside the App

  • Delete any record you entered, at any time, from the screen that holds it.
  • Clear the App's data in Android Settings → Apps → Smart Accountant Pro → Storage to remove everything the App has stored.
  • Uninstall the App to remove it and its local data altogether.
  • Reset your Advertising ID, or turn off ad personalisation, in Android Settings → Google → Ads.

Statutory rights

Depending on where you live, the law may give you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. We honour those rights for the small amount of data we actually hold — in practice, your support correspondence. For anything the App keeps on your device, you exercise those rights yourself in the App, because we cannot see that data and therefore cannot retrieve or delete it for you.

How to exercise them

Write to scashier6@gmail.com and tell us what you need. We answer within 30 days. For data held by Google as an advertising or billing provider, use your Google account controls — we cannot act on your behalf there.

15.International transfers

We do not transfer your records internationally, because we never receive them.

Google may process advertising and purchase data in countries outside your own. Those transfers are governed by Google's own safeguards, including the standard contractual clauses it publishes.

16.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App changes — for example when a new feature needs a new permission, or when the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always shows the current version.

If a change materially affects how data is handled, we will say so in the App's release notes on Google Play before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the App after that point means you accept the updated policy.

Earlier versions are available on request.

17.Contact us

Questions about this policy, or a request about your data, can be sent to us directly:

We aim to reply within 5 business days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the data protection authority in your country, where one exists.
